Nortel's Clarke Trophy 2011

The 2011 Ted Clarke trophy was contested at Chigwell Golf Club on 19th July.

This was our second trip to Chigwell (previous Sept 2009) and this lovely golf course was in just as good condition, possibly even better. Fourteen people turned up to compete for the Clarke trophy;  including guest Colin M and, for the first time out this year, our good friend Gerry Quinn. The day started off in fine weather, but deteriorated after half way round and all arrived back in the club house having had a good drenching. We could have expected this as Steve Barber chose not to attend this one!!!...
None-the-less we all enjoyed the course, were warmly welcomed by the staff and the two course meal "hit the spot" for most people so those who attended would be very happy to return.

And so to the results with vice captain Steve presenting the prizes:

Winner with 36 points Steve G - takes the the Ted Clarke trophy from Vice captain Steve R. In consequence he is to be cut one shot - now off 20! Whilst Graham continues his bad form and so gets one more shot back and will play off 16 at Wyboston.

The next Nortel's golfing venue is at Wyboston Golf Club on 26th August 2011. This is a great course and will be a super value for money day out... And the weather's bound to be good - Mr Barber will be attending this one!..
