Dyrham Park is a stunning golf course and country club situated just off the A1 south of South-Mimms junction. The course was a little damp underfoot following a fortnight of rain but notwithstanding that the club exceeded people's expectations with mulled wine and mince pies at the halfway house. Tree-lined fairways with several water hazards were a delight to play, the food was superb and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was outstanding. All in all a delightful day was had by all. After a superb three course Christmas dinner the awards for the NORTEL's remaining key competitions were announced and presented:

- Nigel Shadbolt & Alban Macdonald

Everyone at the Christmas event was a winner with a prize for all concerned - including Frank who came and joined us for the Christmas dinner. The top three positions on the day were taken by three of our guests, well done to:
- Gordon Parsons - 43 points
- Colin Pocock - 39 points
- Stephen Addison - 37 points
Winners of the Nearest the Pin and Nearest the Pin in Two awards were secured by guests Ralph Ahern and Martin James respectively - but a slip up by the Chairman meant that Martin and Ralph had to forego the customary presentation of a bottle of wine on the day; but these prizes will be delivered by Dickie and Alban.
